Leather, brass, gold tooling and stamping

The four volumes of this set of four mahzorim (holiday prayerbooks) are bound with the most elegant of tooled leather bindings with clasps. The crest is a part of the emblem of the Proops family, the famous Amsterdam printers during more than 125 years. The name of the owner tooled in gold inside the crest is as yet unidentified. On the reverse side of the binding is the same crest with the Proops printers' mark stamped inside.
