Purim
Jerusalem(?), Israel, c.1950
Paper, colored inks, printed
In the 20th century there appeared a number of printed sheets for Purim,
commonly called "Adar plagues". They feature the two fish for
the zodiac sign of mazal dagim for the Jewish month of Adar. This
printed plaque shows a fully laden table for the celebration of the holiday
and indicates the sending of food and money for the tradtional exchange
of gifts, the mishloach manot.
